Nokia N97 and Vopium a good combination

Recently Nokia N97 hits the market and there are different views about Nokia N97. Handling the N97 for the first time I was impressed with the build quality. The phone felt very rugged/sturdy and although quite a tall device it sat nicely in the hand. The menu, camera and volume buttons are made of metal and are all raised from the plastic casing making using them a pleasure. The send and end keys are both touch sensitive and very responsive. As the screen can be locked this sensitivity is not an issue. What is an issue however is the lock/unlock button. It is a sliding plastic button on the left side of the device and using it is extremely awkward. When using the phone one handed I cannot find a way to unlock the screen that feels natural.
The Nokia N97 is a nicely designed phone. The design is agreeable to look at, and the build quality is good, except maybe for the battery cover which has a plastic feel - but it needs to be flexible because it's *removable*. The display is a mixed bag: it has a resolution of 640x360 but the colors seem a little faded and the clarity seems inferior to other touch phones. I suspect that one of the display layers has something to do with this. Two people that I've shown the phone to immediately made the same remark as well.
Anyway the main thing that I check is how good the sound quality is, and how easy it is to dial a number or a contact. The good news is that the sound quality is good, although the volume is not very loud. It would be nice to have a more powerful sound output.
Dialing a number is quick and relatively efficient. There's no need to use the physical keyboard as the virtual numeric pad works great and there was no typo whatsoever while dialing numbers and the good thing is that it supports almost all the apps which I loved the most especially Vopium
Vopium is a FREE VoIP software program installed on your mobile phone. When you make an international call, Vopium re-routes your call as a local call to a Vopium gateway and then via premium global traffic carriers to ensure top-notch voice quality. You pay your mobile provider for a local call and Vopium for the international add-on.
Vopium works in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand (beta), Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and US.

Low Cost Mobile Phones in India

India is an emerging economy which is growing at a rate of 8% every year. There isn't a better place like India to pick up a mobile phone. The market is choc-a-bloc with stores selling cell phones and everything related to it. What began as a hub for low cost electronics is now the single largest mobile phone market in Asia.

As mobile phone users have outnumbered fixed phone users, and given the income variance of the population here, phone manufacturers like Nokia, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson etc. have launched a wide variety of low cost phones to serve the consumers. People now have more options to choose from. As the economy is growing and more FDIs are in place, the market of low cost phones is growing at a rapid pace.

These brands have launched many low price handsets which are loaded with number of quality features such as camera, Bluetooth, FM radio, fast Internet, a quality battery etc. So, one who is not very wealthy but wants to avail the benefits of these interactive features in one's handset at very cheap price then he/she should grab the opportunity of such mobile phones. Previously, the services of these features could be availed through high end handsets, so it was not feasible for him/her to use such phones. But now these low cost devices have made communication easy for everyone to take advantage of latest technologies.

The common man today has more options. He has the access to state of the art facilities in his mobile phone at a low cost. Today, it is hardly surprising to see a mobile literate common man. It is embedded in our lifestyle and low cost phones have just made life easier and will take India to the next level of global dominance.
